Discernment of board members for 2023/2024
There will be three open positions on the Mareda Board at the end of this fiscal year. While normally we would discern these positions at a General Meeting, because we had to cancel our February meeting, our schedule needed to be adjusted. Subsequently, the Board determined the best course of action would be to "discern" the open positions online.
Please review the bios of the following nominees and submit your selections no later than APRIL 24 AT NOON.

Janlyn Carvalho
I am Janlyn Carvalho, a member and employee of St. John Vianney in Brookfield and have been in ministry for the past 10 years. I have been involved with child, youth and adult ministry and love organizing events for the youth. I have completed the Archdiocesan New Director’s Institute program and I am truly grateful for having had that opportunity. I started my role as a Secretary and then moved to being a Coordinator and later to an Associate Director. I am passionate about my job and take great pride in working for SJV!
In this regard, I would like to convey my intent to be a part of the MAREDA Board. I am willing to share my time and put in the effort to help in any role that may be available. I look forward to the opportunity to use my skills to further the mission and vision of MAREDA!

Shelly Fellin
Hello, my name is Shelly Fellin. I am the Coordinator of Formation & Liturgy at St. Agnes Parish. I have been on staff at St. Agnes for 5 ½ years starting part time as the Christian Formation Coordinator. I since became Full-time and in Oct. 2021 took on the Liturgy role where I coordinate all non-musical aspects of the Liturgy. I joined Mareda to find support and community with other Catechetical leaders in the Archdiocese. I want to serve on the Board so that I can collaborate with other Catechetical leaders to create a community for fellowship and support.

Lisa Jachimiec
My name is Lisa Jachimiec and I have been in ministry for nearly 30 years. After coming into the Church through RCIA, I responded to a call to ministry I felt even as a child and I have been blessed to be at St. Leonard (Muskego) in a variety of roles. I started out as coordinator of various programs in the early years, became the Safe Environment Coordinator as well as a facilitator for the program since its inception and since 2009 have been in the role of Director of Child Ministry. I love my job because no two days are ever the same. I do everything from working with our Nursery and Preschool programs, sacramental preparation, Grades 1 - 6 formation, occasionally sharing in the school classrooms, providing school Masses with props, leading adult Bible Study/Catechist formation ~ and more! I am blessed to be able to be in a field I love and in doing so, it seldom feels like work. I served on the Religion Curriculum Task Force in 2018 and am a long-time member of the TIFF Committee. I feel I am finally at a stage of life where I can dedicate time to MAREDA and would love to become more connected with fellow lay ministers.

Maggie Russell
Maggie Russell is the Director of Formation Ministries at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish. In her role there she works collaboratively on the parish’s formation program (GIFT), coordinates confirmation preparation, coordinates the Youth Ministry programs, and serves as the staff liaison for RCIA. The biggest surprise on Maggie’s faith journey has been that she, a self-proclaimed hermit and introvert, feels closest to God when surrounded by her faith community. Spending the last ten years working in ministry, the last several of which as a MAREDA member, has truly been a dream and a treat for Maggie.
